WEATHER: in May, Provence has average daily highs of 18-23 degrees celsius or 64 -74 degrees Fahrenheit which is perfect for touring and sightseeing.
Chateau des Fines Roches: A medieval building steeped in history. Between the Avignon bridge and Orange's roman theatre, the walks in Camargue and the sweetness of a provençal night, the region is rich in discoveries, unprecedented experiences, strolls and all sorts of leisures. In addition to the wonderful vineyards which makes this village a unique place, it presents numerous vestiges like the castle in ruins, Popes previous summer residence and of course, later on, the Fines Roches. Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s original pontifical castle is in ruins, but a second castle, this one a neoclassical château on a hilltop overlooking the vineyards and the village, lives on as a luxury hotel. Hostellerie du Château des Fines Roches exudes old-world grandeur. Highlights include a courtyard swimming pool, a fireplace lounge, a tranquil spa, and an elegant restaurant with terrace seating overlooking the vineyards.
Chateau La Coste Wine Estate, Art Centre and Gastronomy Centre: Chateau La Coste is a 600-acre sculpture park, art destination and organic winery in Provence. Our vineyard near Aix-en-Provence combines a rich history with a winemaking tradition since Roman times. Our estate extends over 200 hectares, in a setting of vineyards, cypresses, umbrella pines, olive trees and oaks. Also, today the artistic walk collection throughout the estate includes more than forty artistic works, ranging from sculpture to installation and works of architecture. "This art and architecture walk is a moment of harmony with nature, it offers a meditative break and the works question our relationship to things, to nature and to our environment."
Domaine Vieux Telegraph: The Old Telegraph Estate. The Brunier family has been watching over the destiny of the Vieux Télégraphe estate for 6 generations. The vineyard is located on the famous Crau plateau, the Mecca of Châteauneuf-du-Pape viticulture. This terroir marks our wines with a very special minerality, as if they had been filtered through the thick layer of rolled pebbles. Climate, mistral, historical grape varieties, soils, feeling, exposure... The personality of a terroir is a magical set of natural and human elements that is sufficient in itself to reveal an expression, to emit a vibration that no oenological technique is yet capable of reproducing.
Chateau De Bellet: At an altitude of 300m on the hills of Nice, the Château de Bellet is located at the highest point of the AOP Bellet. It was in the eighteenth century that the Barons of Bellet began to plant their vines. This family, originally from Savoie, gave its name to the appellation which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2011. On the highest plots of the appellation, the vines of Château de Bellet surround the old family chapel. The monument built in homage to Agnès Roissard de Bellet, in 1873, is one of the major imprints left by this family. Today, the deconsecrated Chapel opens its doors all year round to discover our shop and tasting room where you can taste gastronomic wines of character.
About your Tapenade Workshop:
The Tapenade workshop is a best-seller for anyone wanting to share a convivial, local experience with your tour members. After an introduction to the olive tree and the different ways in which olives can be used to make oil, olive paste and tapenade.....aprons, mortars and pestles are provided to each guest. Then you get to work making a black and/or green olive tapenade!. The Provençal culinary workshop is enhanced by comments on production methods, Provencal anecdotes and other culinary tips in a convivial atmosphere. A tasting on toast of the tapenades created by you, then closes the animation with the informed comments of a specialist.
